I grew up in Békéscsaba, Hungary. I bet you haven't heard of it. It's a small city of 69,000 people in Eastern Europe.
Everybody knows everybody. Lots of gossip. She did this, he cheated on her, yada, yada, yada...
I didn't like that culture at all, which was probably why I turned to self-development, online marketing and entrepreneurship.
I can vividly remember the first sale I made. It was 4,000 Hungarian Forints, which is around $13. I sold a pendrive I bought for $5.
This was in 10th grade high school. In my senior year, I was selling iPhone cases at $10 a piece that I bought from China on the dollar.
But my curiosity led me elsewhere and I'm glad it did.
Not gonna lie, I was a smart kid. Straight As, won maths and physics competitions and I loved science. Still do.
So I went on to pursue a career in medicine.
And the most common question I always got was "What kind of doctor do you want to be, David?"
I told them I wanted to become a space doctor. There was only one problem. And it was a big one.
Hungary doesn't even have a space program. Nor space medicine training.
So I was stuck. On a Wednesday night in October, 2018, I called my older brother at around 7pm. I was really sad and disappointed. A little depressed too.
All my efforts to pursue space medicine turned out to be dead ends.
My brother, Blaise, was doing his biceps curls in the gym. Our whole family was a fitness junkie, but he was the most enthusiast among us all.
Being in a light and funny mood, he had a brilliant idea: "Dude, why don't you just start making space exploration content on Instagram? You love Instagram and you love space."
And that's when my whole life changed.
By the way, do you also have these moments that you remember vividly, because later they turned out to be key turning points in your life?
This is one such moment for me.
He was my big brother and what he said was really smart. Running a social media advertising agency, he knew the power of content creation and having an audinece.
