How to grow 10,000 Instagram followers in a week

When I started out on Instagram, my first goal was to reach 1,000 followers. Then 10,000.

If someone told me I will grow more than 10,000 in a week, I wouldn't have believed them.

Yet, I grew an insane amount of 11,529 followers in the last 7 days, all organic.

Here's some proof:

In this email, I want to teach you how I did it.

1) Consistency

This one is the foundation. The compound effect on Instagram is very real. The more you post, the better. Making a post every day will help you develop and stick to the HABIT of creating content.

That's what we want. For you, to change your behaviour fundamentally, and be able to consistently put out content. If you're not feeling it, it's okay, but never skip two days in a row.

2) Hashtags

I've talked about this a lot, so don't want to waste your time here. If you're looking for the best hashtag tool, I highly recommend Flick. It's an all-in-one hashtag platform that helps you with research, organization and analytics of hashtags.

They also have helpful tutorials on their site about using Flick and hashtags in general. Highly recommended.

(I'm one of their affiliates, so I get a small commission at no extra cost to you if you join the platform. Thank you!)

3) Suggested for you

This is a big one, I talked about it in one of my previous emails, but if you have missed it, check out this Instagram post, where I explain how to get there.

4) Getting featured on pig pages

Whether it's a paid shoutout or a free guest post, getting your content in front of a big audience will give you a massive boost if done right.

The important factor is to find an account in your niche, or in a broader niche than yours, and ask them if they do shoutouts or guest posts.

For example, as I teach entrepreneurs and creators how to grow their Instagram accounts, I either look to get featured on a page about entrepreneurship or marketing.

The guest post I did for @thechrisdo got more than 18,000 likes, and I gained over 3k followers from that single post.

We also designed a post for @lewishowes last week, but as that was more about Kobe Bryant and his message, not about Instagram growth, obviously that didn't cause a massive spike in my audience. That work was more in the spirit of honouring Kobe.

If you want to learn more about productivity, content creation and growth hacking on Instagram, consider my Instagram course.

It's roughly 8 hours of video material spiced with exercises, quizzes, google sheet templates and access to my Facebook Group for Students & Alumni, where you can ask anything and connect with me and more than 170 students who are on the same journey as you.

The Facebook group is also the place where I host the weekly Instagram LIVE Q&A call every Thursday to answer your questions.

P.S: No, the newsletter will not turn into a sales sequence. But whenever I talk about a topic that's described in my course in details, I believe it would be a disservice to you if I didn't mention the opportunity where you can learn more.
